The Monfragüe National Park
The Monfragüe National Park is famous in Europe for the diversity of raptors that can be observed easily and in large quantities: black vulture, griffon vulture, imperial eagle, etc. This park has the best preserved Mediterranean forest in the world and it was declared Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO thanks to its meadow , landscape typical in the south of the Iberian Peninsula .
Monfragüe is located in the center of the province of Cáceres, surrounded by the famous cities of Plasencia, Trujillo and Cáceres. Its backbone consists of the Tajo River, it passes through gentle mountains surrounded by extensive meadows.
